Devil of Hell's Kitchen

Hey!

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night. :)

It's been over a week since the last episode of Game Of Thrones' latest season got over. And I already feel so jobless and purposeless. I have no idea how I'm going to survive the next 10 months. Does this ever happen to you, like after you finish a good book or a movie or a television series, you just feel like there's literally NOTHING you can do but just sit and mourn the fact that it ended?
It happens to me a lot.

Seeing the pathetic state I've been in since 27th June, one of my friends suggested this new series he was all excited about and as it turns out he was right to be so.
'DAREDEVIL' is one of the best superhero series I've ever seen.

Yup, that's Daredevil!

I have watched 'Arrow' for 4 seasons and I'm really excited for the 3rd season of 'The Flash'. But trust me when I tell you this, Daredevil can kick both their asses!

Details:
You can find all about it on the IMDb link here --- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3322312/
You can also find all about it here on Wikipedia ---- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daredevil_(TV_series)

Who is Daredevil you ask?
There was once a boy who pushed an old man aside on the road to save him from getting hit by an oncoming truck loaded with radioactive materials. And in that accident, that little boy got exposed to that radioactive materials, blinding him in the process. Along with this curse of blindness, Matt Murdock also got his powers of heightened senses(other than sight, of course) from that exposure.

That kid grew up to be a blind lawyer-by-day and vigilante-by-night of Hell's Kitchen, New York, in the world of Marvel Comics.
And he can do some serious shit to his enemies!

Why is it one of the best superhero series?
Imagine a guy in a suit and a tie defending innocent people from the claws of injustice in court. Now imagine the same guy with a mask over his eyes, fighting high ranking criminals with just his hands and two metal rods and beating the crap out of them. And now you know why this is the best superhero series there is.

The action sequences shown in this series are so real and convincing that you almost feel like you are there standing (and possibly cheering) beside Daredevil . He has got killer moves, and I'm not just saying that because I've developed this HUGE crush on Charlie Cox (the awesome guy who plays this awesome character), but because he can jump and somersault in the air while kicking and punching the bad guys. Yes.
Plus he never kills. So he's the good kind of vigilante.

I have never read any of his comics so I can't tell much about the comic book character, but Daredevil in the web series is one of the most realistic and human superhero I've ever seen.

Another awesome thing about this web series?
You can binge-watch the whole thing on Netflix. It is a Netflix original series, produced by Marvel Television in association with a few other production houses.

So if you are bored with your life and you're too lazy to go out partying or do other stuff normal people do to enjoy life (I don't know, I'm not very normal -_-), just go watch this super cool action-packed superhero series on Netflix. And chill.
You'll love it, I swear.

That'll be all.
I'm out.

P.S- That excited friend of mine also suggested Gotham. So I'll probably binge-watch that one after I'm done with Daredevil. If you have seen it or heard anything about it, let me know in the comments. Plus you can also suggest me some other superhero series.

Love In The Time Of Dystopia

Hello!

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night. I hope you're having a great day.

Most blogs on the internet are about something- lifestyle, food, reviews and so much more. So I've been thinking about this blog and I decided that I'd write about different movies.
Cinema and theater are such a powerful platforms for people to show and learn about different opinions on diverse subjects that are parts of our daily life.

I love watching movies and television series, so I thought I could write something useful here. It'll mostly be about my opinion on that particular movie and you may or may not agree with that. So if you have any different view I'd like you to comment and enlighten me with your opinions.

One of my all time favourite movie is 'Never Let Me Go'.

The movie is:
Directed by : Mark Romanek
Screenplay by : Alex Garland
Starring : Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightly, Andrew Garfield.
Based on :  Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

About the film:

This 2010 British movie set in a dystopian alternate world is about the lives of three friends and their journey from childhood to early adulthood.

You can check out the IMDb page here ----  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1334260/
And you can check out the Wikipedia page here -----  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Let_Me_Go_(2010_film)

What I liked about this film:

Movies set in alternate worlds with similar kind of realism always attract me. But before I watched this movie, I had no idea about its content or its dystopian set-up; I had just randomly picked up the DVD from my uncle’s collection one day. And I’m so glad I did.
This film is about three individuals who form this strong bond of friendship with each other when they are just kids in their boarding school called Hailsham.
In most of the sci-fi movies I’ve seen, there’s always a hero and a villain and it’s all about the fight between good and evil. But this one is so much different. This film doesn’t have a strong, punching-in-the-face hero or a dark, Machiavellian villain. But this movie never bashes about the evil of developing science.Rather it’s about the views of two types of human beings separated by a thin line of science and technology. The narrator of this story, Kathy(Carey Mulligan), starts her story by talking about her childhood at Hailsham at the late 1970s with her friends Tommy(Andrew Garfield) and Ruth(Keira Knightly). All the children at the boarding school have a particular purpose which they are later made aware of.
This purpose itself shocks the MORAL and ETHICAL grounds of humanity and by the time this movie got over, I was left with a wave of emotions. Throughout the movie, there were so many questioned raised about soul and purpose in life and meaning of love and friendship; but at the end all of them were answered by the most simplified truth, i.e “we all complete”.

It might seem like a movie about the pain and sadness we see through the eyes of the narrator, but after it finished, I honestly felt more alive. It was the only thing I could talk about for days. I kind of forced my sister to watch it so that I could discuss the film with another person. It breaks you and you love it. It gives you a purpose to hold on to yourself and tells you not give up on hope and love because after all, these are the things that truly matter.

I'm not very good at reviewing movies or books. I just wrote about my feelings after I had watched the movie. So its not a review or anything. You can go to the given links to read the plot and synopsis. I didn't want to spoil anything about the movie so I couldn't write more about the characters.

I highly recommend this movie for everyone, doesn't matter if you are going through a high time in your life or a low one. Watch it if you can. I had first seen it about 3 years ago and I can still feel the same overwhelming emotions I had felt then, every time I talk about it.

If you want you can leave a comment about your views on this movie. And also if you know about similar kinds of movies, please suggest.

Thank you for reading.

I'm out.

My Mother's Prophecy And Donnie Darko

Hey!

What's up? How's your day going?

I hope it's going better than mine. I don't like to complain a lot but the weather here is, umm, absolutely sickening. And I don't mean in a 'this song is so sick' kinda way. No. The weather is literally sickening. There's a pretty good chance that I'll catch a cold by tomorrow.

So I woke up around 10:30 in the morning. Got screamed at by my mom.  She prophesied that I would never be able to get a real job in my entire life because I'm always late.
Gotta agree with her on that one. XD

Then again, I have a justified reason to be so late. Last night around 1, I had started watching 'Donnie Darko'.
Have you watched it yet? Yes? No?
Well, it's one of those mind-fucking movies that just messes you up.
Being the movie geek that I am, I couldn't just go to sleep after the two hour movie. I needed all kinds of explanation for each and every scene in the movie that I did not understand.
Does that ever happen to you guys?
Like its physically impossible to do anything else unless you know the explanation!

It took me another hour before I went to bed, and hence my morning predicament. But it's so worth it!
If you haven't watched the movie yet,go watch it. It has a twenty years old Jake Gyllenhaal, an ugly bunny rabbit, an old crazy lady and time-travel. I loved it. It messed with my head at first but still, I loved it. So check that out.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be studying Chemistry right now; so I know my day is going to get worse.
But I hope yours doesn't suck as much. Stay happy.

I'm out.

My First Time

Hello!
I'm Deblina.

I have no idea how to blog. So I'll start with whatever comes to my mind.
As the title says, this is about my first time, blogging.
Who am I? I'm just another awkward narcissistic girl who has no idea what she is doing with her life. I study, sometimes, well to be honest I don't. I love watching movies and eating and sleeping and doing all the unnecessary activities to waste all my useful daily time. I'm very passionate about a few things like - food, game of thrones, clash of clans, bad decisions and stupid discussions(with my equally passionate friends).
Yeah, I do have friends.

My ambition in life changes more than the weather in Kolkata during June, i.e very frequently. Currently though, I'm studying Computer Engineering. God knows what I'll make out of that in the future!

I've mostly wanted to be a writer. But I lack the patience. And I guess that's why I thought I'd start blogging. Short and easy.

I like being happy. I'm not good at expressing my feelings. I'm one of those people who have to act out being mean to someone in her head first before actually being mean to someone.

So there it is, that's me. I eat and sleep and have a varying range of self esteem.
I'm the most common type of person you'll ever see.

If you're still reading this outrageously boring post, God bless you.
Also I'm not very sure if I believe in God.

And that's my first time. I'm out.
